The Busterud Park

The park was established about a hundred years ago on grounds that were previously occupied by the Nordsiden churchyard and Christian's Church. The lovely old band stand was completed in 1879.

The Fortress Museums

Every day during summer, between 19.05 - 31.08 2012, you can experience the different and exicting exhibitions in the fortress museums. Here you'll find exhibitions about fortress,town and war history, and even Norway's oldest bakery and brewery! Entrance: Adults 60 NOK Children 30 NOK (Children under 7 years. free)

The Halden Canal

The Halden Canal, which is a part of the Halden watercourse is one of our country's finest technical, historical monuments. By means of this canal it is possible to travel the 75 kilometer long stretch between Tistedal and the village of Skulerud by boat. The navigational channel is signposted, and a boating and recreation map can be purchased at the Halden tourist office.

The Iddefjord

<P> The Iddefjord runs along the Swedish border from the Singlefjord and the idyllic Hvaler islands to the village of Berby in the Enningdal valley. The outermost stretch is called the Ringdalsfjord, but it becomes the Iddefjord from the point where it makes a sharp bend. </P>

The Svinesund Bridges

This is a vital link between Norway and Sweden. An elegant span, with its beautiful profile stretching 67 meters above the Ringdalsfjord, is Northern Europe's highest bridge.
